FREE IMAGES

There are a few websites out there that have a wide variety of popular pictures that you can download in a variety of sizes and use in your website for FREE. As well, there are a few good image editors that are also free.

You can download images and videos in a variety of sizes... for FREE.  We like Pixabay and Unspash. Pixabay is featured below. It's pretty simple. All you do is go to the url (http://pixabay.com), type in search criteria e.g. 'sushi', select images or video, and click search. Once you find an image that you like just:

  • click on the image you want to download
  • click the green 'Free Download' button on the right
  • select the size of the image you want to download.
  • click the green 'Download' button below sizes
  • you will see the image info at the bottom left of your browser
  • click on the 'Show in folder' option and copy the image to your work folder

It is a good idea to create an account so you don't need to answer any 'I am not a robot' question(s) and they don't inundate you with emails, thank God!

FREE IMAGE EDITORS

There are a few good image editors that are also free. The one we like the best for working on a PC is Paint.net, because it has all the important features of a paid program like Adobe Photo Shop CC or CorelDraw which both cost big dollars. Granted Paint.net requires some learning but we provide some general and specific tutororials on the things you need to do for a website.

A couple of 'Smart Phone' free apps are: Google Snapseed and PicMonkey. You can download them for FREE.

No matter what program or APP you use it will require some learning and practice in order to efficiently use them.
