Facebook is a social networking site that makes it easy for you to connect and share with family, friends, and businesses online. Originally designed for college students, Facebook was created in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg while enrolled at Harvard University. LinkedIn was created in early 2003 and is a business and employment oriented service that operates via websites and mobile apps. LinkedIn is mainly used for professional networking including employers posting jobs and job seekers posting their CVs. Currently, LinkedIn has more than 600 million registered members in more than 200 countries. LinkedIn allows members to create profiles and connections to each other in an on-line social network.

YouTube is a video sharing website based in California. YouTube was started in 2005 by three former PayPal employees: Chad Hurley, Steve Chen, and Jawed Karim. In November of 2006 Google bought YouTube for more $1.6 billion. Now YouTube operates as a Google subsidiary. YouTube allows users to upload, view, rate, share, report on videos. Most of the content on YouTube is uploaded by individuals, but media corporations including CBS, BBC, Hulu, and more post some of their content on YouTube. Unregistered users can only watch videos on the site while registered users are permitted to upload an unlimited number of videos and add comments to videos. There are currently more than one billion YouTube users.


Pinterest was founded in 2010 by Ben Silbermann, Paul Sciarra, and Evan Sharp. Pinterest has reached more than 250 million monthly active users. Pinterest generates over 400% more revenue per click than Twitter and 28% more per click revenue than Facebook. About 79% of Pinterest users are Women. Almost 25% of Fortune 100 companies have Pinterest accounts.
